What's In A Word

I included this image without the title so it can be used as a label too.

I have always been a "fan" of fonts so I thought these were really beautiful. They are all from french magazines so I am not sure what the actual translation is.

Brought to You by the Letter's "T and U"

Click on the picture to see a larger view.
These are my 2 letter's for the monthly Alphabetical order swap that I do on my Yahoo group. They were due at the end of November so I am way over my deadline. (Sorry Anna and Lee!)

Anyways here are the details.

"T" is for Tea
1. The background is an old encyclopedia page that I ripped out of the book. I loved that it had the illustrations of the tea plant so I colored them with pencils. The left side is colored underneath the lace with a Victorian Velvet Distress ink pad and the lace was glued on top. I ripped the edge of the book page and glued it over the edge of the lace.

2. The tea cup is a clear stamp I have. I simply stamped it in black Staz-On ink then used a water brush dipped in some of my markers. (You color on a piece of plastic and pick up the ink with the brush.)

3. The title is cut from the Sizzix die called Trixie Girl. The black paper was first heat embossed with black powder before it was cut out.

"U" is for Ursa Major

1. The image was something that I found on the internet somewhere. I colored it on my computer before I printed it out.

2. The gold frame is german scrap that I rubbed a black Staz-On pad over to antique it.

3. The "big dipper" is made from some very thin strips of sticker paper that I cut and laid along the lines then I put adhesive backed rhinestones on the star points.

4. The title was printed on my computer to fit the book plate and it is attached with 2 gold snaps.

Both pretty simple pages but I was overdue and just wanted to get them done and mailed.

These beautiful frames are all from old photographic labels that you would see on the backs of photos. Most of them have the wording saying something like "artistic photographer" or "from the studio of" so I made use of those words to give you these lovely frames.

12 Days Of Tim (Day 12)

Click on the picture to see a larger view.
Well here is the final "Tim" card and it is actually a tag from last year. I think of all of them it is my favorite simply because of the images in the film strip. I used a couple that Tim provided on his blog but I was able to find quite a few of my own. (Otherwise I wouldn't be known as the queen of images.) I obviously used a quite different format then what Tim did but I like it. Click here if you want see the original tag by Tim and read about his techniques.

Below is the sampler with all the images I found plus a few of Tim's.

And as promised here is slide show of all the rest of my Christmas cards.
